EMPLOYER BACKGROUND

In UK  over the last 5 years there were over 2000 Refuse Collection Vehicles (RCV’s) sold to Local Authorities and the Private Sector. On average they cost about £190,000 each and last about 7 years… that’s just to pick up your wheelie bin!

FAUN Zoeller (UK) Limited is part of the ECOTEC group who produce over 8,500 RCV’s a year and almost 400 Road Sweepers. They have a turnover of €900m and employ 2000 people. They are part of the KIRCHHOFF group in Germany who have a turnover of €2.8bn and operate all over the world supplying the automotive industry.

FZUK employ 40 people with sales of £32m for the UK market. They have a wide range of vehicle types and are now promoting the new BLUEPOWER, using Hydrogen Fuel Cells with batteries for its energy source.

SESSION CONTENT

During your visit you will receive a presentation on the range of products and services that the company offers. This will be followed by a tour around the offices where pupils will have the chance to hear from the members of the team, what their role is, how they came to be in the job (their career pathway) and what qualifications are needed.

ROLES WITHIN ORGANISATION

Sales, HRI service engineering, customer support, spare parts, maintenance department, and business consultancy with local authorities.
