BACKGROUND

Worcester Cathedral is one of England’s most magnificent and inspiring buildings, a place of prayer and worship for fourteen centuries. This building is definitely a place to visit, learn the history and all the exciting things they do everyday.

SESSION CONTENT

  • We aim through our Education Mission statement to;
    • Provide a memorable experience
    • Support delivery of the National Curriculum
    • Ensure a safe and accessible environment
    • Induce awe and wonder
    • Use trained and experienced leaders
    • Plan tailor made visits to suit individual schools’ needs.
    • Wrap up session including questions and answers.

ROLES WITHIN ORGANISATION

Employees come from all walks of life, but all have a passion for customer care, working as part of a team where everyone receives continuous training and knows how their contribution benefits the Worcester Cathedral and the people of Worcestershire.

This is the key advisory body, established to support the work of the Chapter. It provides a sounding board as well as expert guidance to assist the Chapter in its decisions. It has the informal role of watchdog ensuring that the cathedral fulfils its legal responsibilities.

The Council is made up of the following groups:

  • Michael Clarke (Chairman)
  • The Dean of Worcester
  • Eight members appointed by the Bishop
  • Two members appointed from the Chapter
  • Two members appointed by the College of Canons
  • Two members appointed by the cathedral community
